The wheels were also redone in all black. The rear bumper cover was replaced by previous owner so it is all black. The exterior does have a couple dents and dings particularly on passenger door and front fender and in front of rear passenger taillight. Interior vanity lights currently not working. The interior is in nice shape with no cracks in dash and no torn or ripped seats. The a/c works and blows cold for awhile but does have a leak. Brakes, rotors, upper a-arms with ball joints recently replaced with front end alignment. Relatively low miles at 108,572, I am still driving it on nice days so mileage will go up some.
The car is the rarer 35th Anniversary stick shift with all the factory options that were offered. I will NEVER purchase from Dan Perkins again.Time has come to sell my Super Coupe. The car is now worthless since a new transmission costs more than the book value and I lost a lot of money with nothing to show for it. I my opinion, I think the car should not have been on the lot for sale. My son is very disappointed and I feel like I've been misled. Another $850.00! Dan Perkins Service didn't notice this either? We only put 2000 miles on this since purchasing! Two calipers were shot and of course all pads needed replacing. Dan Perkins Service didn't notice this? So early this month my son said there was noise from the wheels. Back to the mechanic to replace the Alternator belt for $137.00. While under the hood, I noticed a frayed belt. No chance! The car was leaking oil.most likely from the valve covers and I decided to fix it. The mechanic checked it out and said it might be a harness connection.Īt this point, I thought I was done. After replacing the TCM, I now saw an electrical problem. The specialist replaced the Transmission Control Module for $1200.00. I towed it to a mechanic for diagnosis and then to a Transmission Specialist. I had called Dan Perkins Used Auto Sales department about the issues and they said I bought it "as is" and would try to help find me someone to service the car. I had the car 2 months and had to replace it for $200! Then in February 2022, all lights went on and the car wouldn't run. Realizing buying used is a risk, I thought I'd fix it. Shortly after bringing it home, I found it was not such a good car. The Carfax was good and the salesman from Dan Perkins ensured me was a safe, solid car. When looking for a first car for my son, I trusted Dan Perkins to sell me a reliable used vehicle. I was a first time customer in 1999 and came back to lease a vehicle in 2018 which I am very happy with. It's the worst car buying experience I've had in my life.
